So much to explore

It was my rest day today and as such I didn't see a whole lot of my baby boy today :( He was in good hands, mind you, but I missed him so much. Dinner time rolled around (the time parents take their kids again on rest days) and was I happy to see my little rascal. Rascal indeed for although he hadn't seen me in at least 3 hours (I know that's not very long...ehe...but it seemed longer to me) he was set on being a brat (fussy and whinny) during dinner time, nothing unusual, but I guess I thought that maybe just maybe he would be good for mommy seeing that he hadn't been with me for the day.

Good thing I had made my own dinner, (stake and fried potatoes...yummy) since it was my rest day, and eaten before he arrived. So dinner today was simply trying to feed him rather than the usual trying to feed him, keep him happy, and attempting to inhale my own food before he disturbs the entire dinning room :D

There's always a first time for everything, right? Well today was one of those days for Kenji. I decided to let him do something different for parent time...yep believe it or not I let him play with puddles. He was having so much fun, I just couldn't get myself to stop him from exploring around. (It's been raining without fail every single day sometimes several times a day so everything was wet and muddy)

There's a huge puddle of water right under his hand...

He crawled/climbed up some steps in order to reach a bigger puddle...

He wanted a closer up angle of the above mentioned puddle...

After some time he got bored of the water play and decided that the tezontle (type of rocks) that had recently been laid out by the driveway would be a good project. I let him do this even though it meant; wet hands + dusty rocks = very muddy hands and clothes.

The reason I let him do this was because I figured he was filthy already. I hadn't showered him in 3 days due to the very cold weather we've had for a while now and because he's been on the brink of coming down with a cold so I didn't want to take any risks. Of course I was still giving him a quick washcloth clean up before bed time so it's not like he was filthy per se.

Alright so I let him do this huge puddle playing/tezontle activity for parent time and little did I know that we just so happened to run out of water...nothing unusual here :) ... grrr... So there I was with this muddy little baby whom I couldn't shower, well at least not for another 30 minutes or so.

Seeing that I had some time to kill, mainly try to entertain him for another 30 minutes, I decided to go over and visit the neighbors mainly to apologize for not being able to make it to their little kids b-day party they had invited me earlier. (Yes, mind you, I somewhat cleaned Kenji up before going) Kenji was a little shy at first with so many new faces but once he felt safe on moms lap he started being his cheery and bashful, in a cute/flirty way, little self. And of course with all the balloons strung everywhere he soon forgot about his shyness.

They gave him a little bag full of treats and a bottle of bubble blowing liquid which he loved (he just learned how to blow about 2 weeks ago so blowing is a novelty) so he was entertained for quite a bit with the whole blowing bubbles activity. After he had a couple of bites of a not so spicy tamale (first time eating a tamale) and some cake and chips...wow a lot of junk food for a little guy...we headed back home for a much needed bath.

All nice and showered...let me try those corn chips...

Hah hah, I finally figured out how to see the pictures. What a genius. You need to put new stuff up, Suko. That's all old.
