Here are some pix of some of the things we did to celebrate Children's Day! The Lord supplied everything, from entrance fee, to lunch, and even a super premium peach Häagen Dazs ice-cream for each of the boys! (I was sooo jealous)! :D
Due to the heat being just about unbearable, we didn't stay long at the La-la Landia, but the kids had a blast nonetheless! Upon arriving home we did some projects, bathed, and then ended their celebration day with a movie!
Oh, I almost forgot, as a special reward for being such a shiner with his potty training at naps and bedtime (he doesn't wet his bed at all anymore) I decided to present to him his new Thomas the Train bed set and bed, (his mattress has been on the floor these past months) but unfortunately the people building his bed did not have it ready in time to give it to him as a "Children's Day" present. :(
I think I'll wait for the bed so that I can give it to him as a complete little reward for his progress, or I may give in and just give him his new bed set regardless of the bed. As I do want to post pics of his bed set as it's oh, so cute! :)

Special activities!!!
This last week was a very busy and full week for all of us with our kids singing group performing in various events held in honor of 'Children's day'. We also helped out with the organizing of things in the "Children with Leukemia Association," the "Children's Hospital," the "INCA Institution," as well as in one of our friends shipping company, "Condesa".
The kids did so well in their presentation and participation in these events and as a reward the kids were invited to the cinema today through a friend of ours. They were so happy even though it meant the movie would be playing in Spanish. They understood most everything and being that it was an animated movie it was pretty easy to follow and understand.
I was happy to hear that Kenji could also go, YAY! A big deal to be sure of, seeing as it would be his first time at a cinema. At first he started acting a bit insecure, I suppose due to all that was going on around him and the amount of people surrounding him, and was a bit frightened about sitting on the seat because it kept on folding in half while he was sitting on it. Ha! He wasn't heavy enough to hold it down.
But once the movie started and he got his own cup of popcorn and juice he was fine. :) He was so flipped out and in awe at the huge screen and kept on saying, "WHOA, mama, WHOA"! while pointing to the animated animals jumping around. He was in high heaven!!! But sadly I forgot to bring the camera so I have no pics of Kenji at the cinema. :( (Actually I may be able to get one or two as the lady who invited us took a couple of pics of all of us with her camera, so if and when I get a hold of them I'll add them).
The movie started at 12:30 p.m. meaning that it was close to his usual nap time. I didn't know if he would go to sleep, with all the excitement of watching a movie at the cinema, but seeing as he's a child that likes his routine... heh... he only lasted about half the movie and then fell asleep. He didn't finish his snack, so I brought it home for him to enjoy during school time on the computer -something he thoroughly enjoys. Not sure if it's the actual school or just the fact that he's in front of a computer. :D
After the movie we provisioned lunch out and even some yogurt ice-cream as an extra treat for all the kids. All in all it was a fun outing for the kids and something special and new for Kenji. We thought that that was the end of our little way to celebrate 'Children's Day' for the kids, but much to our surprise when we got home a friend of ours had brought 2 liters of ice-cream and ice-cream cones for the kids.
After dinner we got together on the balcony for some inspiration/praise time for all that the Lord did for us and through us this last week. Following right after we all got to enjoy our chocolate and coconut ice-cream cones, which by the way each kid got to put together so that was an added treat in itself.
Eating ice-cream from a cone was another new experience for Kenji. He was a bit hesitant at first with the cold ice-cream touching his lips but after getting the hang of licking it he was happy and enjoyed it very much, of course! And I did get photos of this new experience. YAY! :)
The day in itself was a fun and happy one for Kenji and quite memorable,I think, so I didn't want to do a great big present giving thing. I opted instead to simply give him some new stuffies that a friend gave me for him a while ago as a little present. One of them, the penguin, has some headphones which act as speakers so he really liked the fact that he could snuggle up with it and have music playing for him as well. So cute!
Then after the kids were in bed it was my turn to be surprised. :) Mom, Jim, Maria, and Steve got me a cheesecake and beer. Of course these two don't go together so we opted to drink the beer then and have the cheesecake as part of b-fast. It was so sweet of them to do something for my birthday even though we had all had a very long day.I felt so loved at their thoughtfulness. (My mom and I took the 5 kids to the cinema, provisioned everything from the taxis to the meal and treat! TYJ! While Maria and Jim went to the 2 markets in one day. GBT!)
